1. What Are Cookies & Web Storage?
Cookies and browser storage (including localStorage) help websites remember information about you. We use both: HTTP cookies where vendors or first-party attribution require them, and browser storage for sign-in, preferences, and consent choices. Optional categories are described below and controlled in Settings → Privacy.
2. How We Use Storage
We group browser storage and cookies into essential, functional, analytics, and marketing categories. You can control optional categories in the consent banner and in Settings → Privacy.
Essential Storage
Required for basic functionality (authentication, offline queue)
Functional Storage
Optional - enhances experience (timers, preferences)
Analytics & Marketing
Optional — only with your consent (usage statistics, landing-page insights, ad measurement)
3. Detailed Storage Categories
Essential Storage (Required)
Cannot be declined. These are strictly necessary for app functionality.
- Purpose
- Strictly necessary storage to keep you signed in, remember your cookie consent choices, queue changes when you are offline, and use a first-party anonymous visitor identifier for our own visit counting. Essential storage is not used for advertising profiles and is not sold.
- Duration
- Sign-in material follows normal session lifetimes (short-lived access, longer refresh while you stay signed in). Consent choices are kept for about twelve months before we ask again. Other essential records last until you sign out or clear site data in your browser.
- Your control
- Required to use the signed-in app. Sign out or clear this site's data in your browser to remove session material.
Functional Storage (Optional)
Can be declined. These improve your experience but are not required for basic functionality.
- Purpose
- Optional browser storage on your device to remember preferences (such as light/dark mode), resume in-progress timers across reloads, and keep temporary sync metadata so the app continues smoothly across tabs and sessions.
- Duration
- Session-only for in-progress timers, or persistent until you clear browser storage or change your preferences in Settings.
- Your control
- You can decline functional storage in the cookie consent banner or clear it anytime in Settings → Privacy or your browser settings.
Analytics (Optional — consent required)
Nothing in this category runs unless you opt in. If you revoke consent, reload the page to stop any script already loaded in that session.
- Purpose
- Understand how the app and public landing pages are used — for example page views, feature usage, scroll depth, and which sections get attention. We do not use analytics consent to read form contents or personal text you type on the page.
- Third-party provider
- When enabled, we use Google Analytics. Google may set its own cookies subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We also run first-party landing analytics stored on our servers; those events are not shared with ad platforms.
- Duration
- Provider cookies follow the vendor's retention schedules. First-party analytics events are kept for a limited period, then deleted automatically.
- Your control
- Decline or withdraw consent in the cookie banner or Settings → Privacy.
Marketing (Optional — consent required)
- Purpose
- Measure whether ad campaigns led to visits or sign-ups. When enabled, we load the Reddit Pixel; Reddit may set its own cookies. Basic first-party landing attribution may still be recorded without marketing consent.
- Your control
- Decline or withdraw consent in the cookie banner or Settings → Privacy.
4. Third-Party Services
Optional categories may involve vendors who set their own cookies when you consent. Essential sign-in is handled by our authentication provider; the app stores session material in your browser so you stay signed in.
Bot verification: On sign-up and some public forms we load Cloudflare Turnstile to reduce automated abuse. Turnstile may set short-lived cookies or similar browser records as part of that check. It is not used for advertising or analytics consent categories. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
What we don't use:
- No social media tracking pixels other than Reddit when you opt in to marketing
- No cross-site fingerprinting
- We do not sell storage or cookie data
5. Managing Your Preferences
You have full control over your storage preferences:
- Cookie Consent Banner: Shown on first visit, accessible from Settings page
- Settings Page: Go to "Privacy & Data" → "Manage Cookie Preferences"
- Browser settings: Clear site data or cookies for frogbreakfast.com
- Note: Declining functional storage may limit some app features (e.g., timers won't persist)
6. Storage Duration
Retention depends on category: session material expires when you sign out or after normal auth timeouts; consent choices are refreshed about once a year; optional analytics and marketing follow vendor schedules or our limited first-party retention; functional data lasts until you clear it or change preferences.
7. What Happens When You Decline Functional Storage?
- Active timers won't persist across page reloads
- Theme preference won't be saved (defaults to system)
- You'll need to re-enter preferences each session
- Essential features (tasks, auth, offline queue) continue working
8. Legacy Browser Storage
Older app versions may have kept task data in legacy browser databases on your device. New accounts rely on cloud storage. You can clear leftover site data in your browser if you still see remnants from an old install.
9. Updates to This Policy
- Last updated date shown at top of page
- Material changes will trigger new consent prompt
- Check back regularly for updates
